Emilie Halpern Mural in the Courtyard
Ongoing installation
The Claremont Museum of Art has sponsored an outdoor installation by artist Emilie Halpern located at the eastern end of the Packing House. Halpern's work is featured in the Museum's current exhibition Multiverse. This is a photograph of a tree that was carried to the moon as a seed on Apollo 15. After the seeds returned to Earth, NASA sprouted theminto saplings. The moon trees were planted all over the US and beyond. The plantings were not well recorded, so the placement of the trees is mostly unknown. There is no way to tell a moon tree apart from an Earth tree.
