Padua Hills Art Fiesta

Over 600 people attended the Eighth Annual Art Fiesta, last held in 1959. It was a beautiful day in Padua HIlls and the Theatre grounds were filled with artists, music, tacos and activities for the kids.

An Artful Evening
Members were invited to the home of David and Ahlene Welsh and view their beautiful home, art collection and jewlery studio. Members enjoyed wines from Liquorama and food by Spaggi's and met the directors of our Art Education Programs.

PUBLIC EVENT

OpenART Studio Tour

Hidden among Claremont's neighborhoods and business parks, dozen of art studios were opened to visitors. Over 60 people attended the self-guided tour followed by a fabulous party of tapas and margueritas at the Van Clapp home. Thirty-three artists participated in the day-long event giving the community a chance to meet many active Claremont artists. For photos click here.

Opening Reception, Suspended Between Laughter and Tears

A lively crowd attended the opening reception September 30 of Suspended Between Laughter and Tears organized by Pitzer College Art Galleries with the support of the Claremont Museum of Art. Ader's 1970s films dominated the walls of the Nichols Gallery juxtaposed with recent works of other artists influenced by Bas Jan Ader's work. For photos of the opening click here.

MEMBER EVENT

An Artful Evening

Over 130 museum members enjoyed a summer evening on the patio of the McIntosh home, designed in 1958 by Fred McDowell. Members toured the home and visited the studio shared by ceramists Harrison McIntosh and Rupert Deese. Docents provided information on the McIntosh’s collection of fellow Claremont artists. Members also toured the house next door, an architectural gem designed by Richard Neutra, that has been lovingly restored and landscaped by homeowners Domingo and Martha Paglia. PUBLIC EVENT

The Claremont Museum of Art had a booth at the Claremont Fourth of July Celebration in Memorial Park on July 4, 2010. Kids made paper Freedom flags and visitors learned about all the museum's new activities and projects.

An Artful Affair

Padua Hills Theatre
An Artful Affair was held May 14, 2010 at the Padua Hills Theatre. A festive art lover's evening of wine and hors d'oeuvres was enjoyed by over 150 guest, plus 30 volunteers who helped to make the evening a grand success.
